Name: Oresti Tantalos
Title: Multi-Store Owner
Studied Pharmacy at University of South Australia.
Why did you join Star Pharmacy Group?
I saw the growth potential that Star Pharmacy Group has and I knew I wanted to be a part of it.
How long have you been working with Star Pharmacy Group?
I started working as a Pharmacist Manager in a busy store in Kilkenny, South Australia in April 2012. And by September 2012, I was asked to partner in three stores in Coffs Harbour, NSW.
What do you enjoy most about your current position?
In my current role as a Multi-Store Owner, I most enjoy managing large teams in different regions. It’s amazing to see the growth of my teams and helping them achieve their goals.
What are the benefits in working for SPG?
My last employment involved 3 pharmacists (partners) providing all financial information to accountants, dreaded BAS returns, preparing staff contracts, doing the payroll, making sure HR issues were resolved according to Fair Work requirements, assessing marketing, managing the bank manager and the landlord and this is before thinking about providing excellence in customer service! The job was obviously done but it was a challenge to do everything to a high standard.
I absolutely love the fact that I can ring and or meet with people within the group and have my queries professionally answered. I love the fact that retail managers exist within the group that are experienced in non-pharmacy retail and share their ideas of improving sales. To be able to access vital financial information from a twice a week budget tracker to a monthly profit and loss statement is incredible compared to the effort required to achieve this in the past. I urge all pharmacist managers and retail managers to utilise every single key person in the group to maximise bottom line profitability. The time saved is invaluable and is better redirected to doing what we are trained to do, to provide exceptional patient care.
